Rebecca Foy

DIRECTOR
MA (HONS) GEOGRAPHY

Rebecca has a background in environmental, social and economic geography, including geographic information systems.  She has over 20 years’ experience leading a wide range of resource management and social and economic impact assessments for councils, private companies and central government agencies. Her experience covers assessments of market structure, size and change, urban form impacts, residential demand, business land needs, social impacts of proposed developments and policies, district plan reviews, policy implications and economic impact of events and proposed developments.


Currently, her main areas of focus are social impact assessments of proposed policy changes, urban redevelopment initiatives and large-scale transport projects.  She has also undertaken centre health assessments and provided guidance on the size, location and scale of future retail and business activity in relation to proposed urban transformation projects.  She has a particular interest in the impacts of central and local government policies on land use decisions.

Rebecca is a conscientious and precise project manager, and excels at communicating timeframes and deadlines with her colleagues, other consultants and clients.  She is committed to ensuring projects are completed on budget and within agreed timeframes.  Her other core skills are conceptualising social impact frameworks, interpreting numerical datasets, demographic and economic information, developing growth scenario evaluation models, using GIS, and interpreting the implications of plan changes and policies.  She has a robust understanding of qualitative research methods and reporting, and is able to inform research design and reporting.
