Social assessments
Social impact assessments: SIAs are undertaken to evaluate the likely impacts of infrastructure provision or land use policies on individuals, businesses and communities and describing the tangible and intangible costs and benefits.
Social equity: We advise on how to achieve policy and development outcomes that are fair for different community groups, including funding allocation, infrastructure supply and access to services.
Multi criteria analysis: Often a policy or investment will generate multiple benefits and costs, which may be tangible or intangible. These impacts can accrue unevenly across groups in the community. We utilise MCA to help decision makers weigh and evaluate the full range of implications of policy options.
Community profiling: The community includes a range of groups and individuals, who need different things or will respond differently to a situation. We have detailed information which covers a range of important characteristics, including demographics, family types, ethnicity and prosperity.
Primary research: We regularly manage primary research on economic and social issues. The team can improve primary research outcomes by providing valuable insight into the development of survey scripts.
Socioeconomic deprivation: We have a range of indicators that provide an understanding of the relative needs of a community. This information has been used to inform decisions by NGOs to maximise the outcomes from their limited resources.
